Pro Era and Joey Badass
Pro Era is a rap group from Flatbush Brooklyn. The founder of the group was capital STEEZ. STEEZ was not only a great rapper but also has some of the most intense flows that I have ever heard. Unfortunately he is not making music anymore. He committed suicide on December,24,2012 he climbed to the roof of a movie theater texted his closest friends that he loved them and jumped off plummeting to his death. But that was not the end of Pro Era. STEEZ passed the reins to Joey Badass One of his closest friends, under the lead of Joey, Pro era has released three albums 1999, Summer Nights, and B4.DA.$$. B4.DA.$$ has gained some serious popularity with tracks like On And On, Paper trails, and Curry Chicken This album has to be one of my favorite albums of all time. If they keep putting out quality content like they have been I don't think anything could stop them on the road to stardom.
B4.DA.$$
Joey's Debut Studio album, B4.DA.$$ was released on January 20, 2015. The first three tracks Big Dusty, Christ Conscious, and curry chicken where released around a month before the rest of the album, creating even more hype for the long awaited next Joey Badass album. What amazes me about B4.DA.$$ is the diversity of music on this one album. Within 15 songs, just 53 minutes of music Joey is able to switch between intense tracks with heavy beats like Big Dusty and No. 99, even more intense songs his own rap and how his lyrical genius is what makes him better than all the other rappers in Christ Conscious, and slower more meaningful songs about growing up poor how the pursuit of wealth is what ruins everyone and how no matter what we do we always have to live with the decisions that we make in Curry Chicken, Paper Trail$, and On and On. A lot of this album has a more somber note to it because it is their first album after the death of their friend Capital STEEZ so much of it is an homage to him. They talk about all the great things that he did in his life, how thy miss him and that they cant wait to see him again in the next life.
Some of my favorite tracks from B4.DA.$$ are
